Portable projectors are really cool devices that can really be really cool. However some cna be really expensive so we’ve taken the time to bring together a list of the best projectors under $150. The ones listed here are able to connect to multiple devices (for example, your smartphone, xbox, etc) and can easily be transported. The price point makes them available to almost anyone.
We’ve taken some of the top projectors on the market that are under $150 and put them in this guide to help you (similar to our best soundbars under $200 found here). There are other good projectors on the market, however we have found these to be the best combination of price, quality, and several other factors. Feel free to read the list below.
RAGU Z400 1600 Lumens Mini Portable Projector
The Ragu 400 Projector delivers 1600 lumens of brightness and has a small and portable size that makes it easy to move around. The projector is able to project out 5-13 ft and the max supported resolution is 1080p. This is the first projector on our best projectors under $150.
The projetor has a HDMI port, USB port, AV/TV port, SD card slot and 3.5mm audio jack. This lets you connect it to your playstation, xbox, computer, and almost any other device. There is a 1 year guaranty on the projector itself.
DBPOWER T20 1500 Lumens LCD Mini Projector
The DBPOWER T20 has a projector distance of 1.5m-5m with an image size of about 130 inches. Like the Ragu projector the DBPOWER is light and able to connect to a variety of devices with its HDMI port.
The projector weighs 2.1 pounds and is 12 x 8 x 4.5 inches. This makes it very easy to bring wherever you would like with very little hassle on your end. The pricing is right in our range and is a very good projector for the money. The low fan noise lets you use it in quiet areas.
Crenova XPE460 LED Video Projector Home Projector
The Crenova XPE460 is has a projection size of 37 inches to 130 inches based on how far the distance is. The HDMI port lets you plug in any HDMI capable device to the projector (could work well for a computer/laptop).
Is also comes with a 12 month warranty so it can be replaced if anything does happen to it. It is also able to be used with Ipads and Smartphones with a wireless HDMI dongle.
Blusmart LED-9400 Mini Portable Home Video Projector
The Blusmart LED-9400 has 2000 lumens, to provide a bright projector experience. (Please keep not though the manufacturers state it is not a good source for showing business data. Excel, Word, etc).\
Unlike some of the other projectors here the Blusmart comes with HDMI, AV, VGA, and TV inputs. This gives you the ability to use an extremely large number of devices with this projector.
Unlike some of the other projectors the Blusmart comes with a 3 year replacement or refund warranty in case anything happens. This is quite a bit longer than the other projectors which have mostly 12 month warranty durations.
DBPOWER T21 Upgraded LED Projector
The DBPOWER T21 is a little stronger than the DBPower T20 with the T21 having 1800 lumens versus the T20’s 1500. The T21 also has a USB hookup for a phone or computer, eliminating the need for an HDMI port on the other device. It is noted that this projector is not recommended for powerpoint or business presentations.
The image size ranges from 32 inches to 176 inches depending on the distance and is best usually used from a few meters away.
In addition, the projector also comes with a 3 year warranty with customer service and technical support. This is nice in case something happens down the road to it (such as a part breaking) so you don’t have to buy an entirely new one.
Crenova XPE470 Mini LED Video Projector
The Crenova XPE470 has a projection size from 37 inches to 130 inches depending on needs and setup. The Crenova projector is about the size of an Ipad Mini (5.6″x15.9″x12.1″) and weighs only 3.5 pounds. This is the final projector on our best projectors under $150.
It comes additionally with a remote controller so you can use it like a TV. Another idea is to use it instead of a TV. You save the cost of a TV and at the same time get a more flexible setup for a room (not to mention a bigger screen). The crenova is able to connect via HDMI to a laptop, Xbox/Playstation, or another home entertainment device.
